Carmen Cheng    

I am a third-year Ph.D. student at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬, where I work on topics in causal inference and computer vision with Dr. Hanwang Zhang in the Machine Reasoning and Learning (MReaL) lab. I am fortunate to be funded by the Alibaba Talent Programme.

Previously, I studied Computer Science and Critical Media & Cultural Studies at Rollins College. I was co-advised by Dr. Dan S. Myers and Dr. Lisa Tillmann.

Research

My research focuses on creating fair and unbiased systems to address human-centric problems, specifically in the vision and language domains. I am also deeply commited to advancing AI ethics and policymaking for the responsible deployment of AI across society.
